Tourism is an important dynamic industry in the today world, Ali Asghar Mounesan said while addressing the 40th UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Affiliate Members Plenary Session underway in Hamedan on November 12-14.
Touching upon the International Conference of Hamedan as the “ACD Tourism Capital, 2018” which was held in this western Iranian provincial capital city in late August, designation of another northwestern Iranian city, Tabriz, as the Capital of Islamic Tourism in 2018 by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the World Crafts Council’s (WCC) celebrations of registration of the Iranian cities, Mounesan said that holding such important international sessions will help get familiar with Iran’s considerable tourism capacities.
Today, the developing countries are after boosting income, enhancing constructive interaction with world and using economic and social resources to strengthen tourism industry for achieving the goals of sustainable development, the cultural official added.
About Hamedan 40th WTO session, the official said that such international gathering in the Iranian city is an effective step towards introducing Iran’s capacities to the world despite the US Iranophonia moves.
Hamedan owning about 1,800 tourism attractions is one of the five important tourism destinations in Iran.
The UNWTO is to grant the first-ever international certificate of tourism to Iranian Alisadr Tourism Company located in Hamedan.
